Maliki Guram, director of HOLA MOHALLA

#FF Friday Fundraisers for Feb. 17, 2017

Today I wanted to include words and thoughts from a film-goer, an art maker, and a connoisseur of stories in all forms. She has been a host to me in Columbia, Missouri, while I prep for the True/False Film Fest which programs the best in creative non-fiction (aka, documentary). While discussing my intro for the list, we happened upon the theme of life. Women filmmakers view their craft as process. Indeed, women view life as process. Rooted in cycles, recipes, and stories, women’s films illuminate these processes and offer a metacognitive view of life – binding knowledge to experience. Collaborating with all involved, women film stories in multidimensional richness. Layers of love and multiple points of view give women’s films a round quiet power and a truth of shared existence. Inspired by the lives around them, the women below are working through their own processes and they need your support!

Check out the list of directors crowdfunding their projects today. As always, be sure to update us on your crowdfunding projects so we can include it in a future post!

Reminder: All of the projects listed below have female directors at the helm OR they are projects that benefit women directors (e.g., film festivals, funds, etc).  The campaigns at the top of the list are the ones ending soonest, so get in there and support ASAP (with $$ or an RT on Twitter). Click the titles to go directly to each project’s crowdfunding page, those in italics are new additions this week.

Thanks for visiting and thank you very much for helping us support and raise awareness about WOMEN DIRECTORS AT WORK!
